🗝 Self Check-In
No office. No front desk. Fern Grotto Inn is a self-service property. Your cottage will be unlocked with the keys inside when you arrive. We're not always on-site — but we are just a phone call away.

✈ Directions from Lihue Airport (LIH)

Exit the airport and proceed north on Highway 51 toward Kapaa. Stay in the right lane — Highway 51 will merge into Highway 56.

Continue north on Highway 56 for approximately 4 miles. You'll pass Wailua Golf Course on your right.

Cross the bridge over the Wailua River. Get into the left lane before the bridge.

Immediately after the bridge, you'll see the intersection for Kuamoo Road (Highway 580). Turn left.

Continue on Kuamoo Road for approximately 0.4 miles. Fern Grotto Inn (4561 Kuamoo Road) will be on your left. The entrance has no sign — this is intentional as we value our privacy. Look for a small mailbox marked 4561 at the driveway entrance. It is easy to drive past, especially after dark — slow down and watch carefully on the left.

Pull into the driveway and park anywhere in the parking area. Use the property map below to find your cottage. If you get turned around, call 808-821-9836.
